Summary

Adopted in 2000, Resolution 1325 recognizes the disproportionate impact of armed conflict on women and girls and calls for their increased participation in peace processes and conflict resolution. It urges all actors to protect women and girls from gender-based violence and to incorporate gender perspectives in peacekeeping and post-conflict reconstruction.
